Some adjectives end in –ic and some end in –ical. Since there is no rule, it is not easy to find out which form is correct in a particular case.

An economical car does not consume much gas.

Correct! Wrong!

Historic means making history.

8. Do you enjoy reading ………………. novels?

Correct! Wrong!

Historical means connected with history

9. If only we could solve all the problems of the world with the flick of a ………………. wand.

Correct! Wrong!

A magic wand is a stick used by a magician.

10. It is not ……………… to take another loan now.

Correct! Wrong!

Politic means wise or prudent.

11. That scandal destroyed his ……………… career.

Correct! Wrong!

Political means connected with politics.

Correct! Wrong!

Magical means wonderful or exciting.
